MICHAEL FLAMION

Nine-year law enforcement veteran Police Officer Michael Flamion began his service at the DeSoto Missouri Police Department, where he dedicated seven years before transitioning to the Ballwin Missouri Police Department in December 2014. Officer Flamion earned the respect and admiration of the Ballwin community, standing out as an exemplary officer in the eyes of its citizens. His remarkable actions in the line of duty were twice recognized by the Chief, both incidents involving confrontations with individuals resisting arrest.

A fateful event occurred on July 8, 2016, when Officer Flamion sustained a gunshot wound to the neck during a routine traffic stop, resulting in paralysis from the neck down. Since then, Michael has persevered through rigorous rehabilitation efforts, displaying unwavering determination. His progress includes the ability to engage in conversations, consume solid food, and even regain some mobility in his shoulders. Under the R.I.S.E. Program, Compass Design Build was honored to build the Flamion family a specially adapted smart home.
